A Nation Pays Tribute: The Funeral of Coretta Scott King

In February 2006, Atlanta became the center of a national moment of remembrance as tens of thousands of people gathered to honor the life and legacy of Coretta Scott King. More than 16,000 mourners paid their respects as she lay in honor at the Georgia State Capitol, while over 14,000 people attended her funeral service, with countless others lining the streets and watching around the world.

Bush, and Jimmy Carter, along with civil rights leaders, elected officials, entertainers, clergy, and dignitaries from across the nation.
